Useful AI starts with a better question.
Why a well-defined workflow matters more than adding AI to every part of a product.
Find the point of friction
Start with the work people repeat, the information they struggle to find, or the decisions that need better context. Describe the existing process before choosing a model. Not every problem needs AI; a simpler interface or automation can sometimes solve it.
Keep people in control
Design review steps for consequential outputs. Show where information comes from and make correction easy. The interface should communicate uncertainty clearly rather than encouraging people to treat every generated answer as a fact.
Evaluate the whole experience
Useful evaluation includes accuracy, response time, cost, and how easily people recover from mistakes. Test representative inputs and difficult cases. Treat quality as an ongoing process rather than a one-time demonstration.
